MORO DABRON DOWNLAND EAU DE PARFUM
Downland was inspired by the painterly landscapes of William Nicholson; in particular those of the tumbling Sussex downs, where the artist lived for many years in a former rectory near the coast. Evoking Nicholson’s gentle but sensitive eye for the depths in rolling hills and curved seashores, the serene economy of his colour palette, and his innate understanding of how the lightest smudge of green or blue can minimally transform perspective, Downland begins with a wave of salty air and elemi, mellowing to a warm base of hay, sandalwood, and vetiver.
Like the well-placed shadows in Nicholson’s paintings, it is a scent of hidden nooks and depths: fresh and bracing, yet almost supernal in its simplicity.
